Our Story

Victoria Renaissance Faire Society is a non-profit founded in the Summer of 2024 to bring a more accessible and Indigenous focused RenFaire to Victoria! We acknowledge and respect the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on whose traditional territory VNFC stands and the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. In fact, VicRenFaire was founded in our desire to bring the fun and magic of a RenFaire to the area and also highlight Indigenous history and magic!

We are aiming to provide an annual faire, with performances by local artists and local vendors. There will be an Indigenous vendors “Alley” and wandering performers!

We aim to highlight Indigenous joy and magic, and bring our community together for a fun event!

Will Martinez is an aspiring archaeologist studying coastal B.C. archaeology. Indigenous community and collaboration is the very center of his work, and the Ren Faire is no exception! As Vic Ren Faire’s Community Engagement & Social Media Manager, Will brings his creative visions to life through community engagement and artistic inspiration. As a Fernwood resident, he often volunteers his time to local theatre productions in order to bring more affordable events to his community.

A bard at heart, Will writes and plays his own songs in his free time, often inspired by his partner’s Dungeons and Dragons campaign (the very same that his costume originates from). Always having had a love for fantasy and flair, Will hopes to bring that magic to the community at this year's ren faire.
